Hello all, Phillip here.
I’ve been gone three months, and I don’t remember much happening during them.
So let’s move onto the free fiction
It is April 2025, and Halfplanet Press, like the flowers, is blooming again. We have been working hard on figuring out ways to get our books in more places, and on reprints. You’ll hear more about that in the near future on my author newsletter, but for now, Free Fiction Friday is back.
Today’s selection is a small cluster of books and stories which cross that murky line between soft sci-fi and fantasy. My own entry, THE CRYSTAL REBELLION, is about a psychic crystal called Susan who tries to take over the world. It was originally featured in WHO BUILT THE HUMANS, and has been re-released on bookfunnel and on eBook retailers simply because I think it deserves its own life. It has previously been featured on the radio.
Most authors publish the stories on their own -before- putting them in a collection. But I am a time traveller, so I went the long way round.
That said, for the upcoming WHO KILLED THE HUMANS? I am being a bit more normal. I am publishing short stories as and when they are polished, and the best of them will make it into that collection (alongside a fair few exclusive ones)
Sort of like David Bowie albums
Anyway, getting carried away with myself. Here is a big mint green button that takes you to the free fiction.
And here is a big mint green Bowie
(arguably mint blue, but it’s been a long day)
And as always, sharing these posts helps grow FREE FICTION FRIDAY, which gives me a bigger audience to brag about, which makes a lot of things easier when it comes to working in the Arts. It also means (and this is more important) that authors who join FFF promos will reach more people!
Human readers supporting human authors.
Strange how new that idea feels now.
