Boxing day Book freebies.
I hope you all had a good Christmas, and that today is nice and calm.
I only really watch normal television (not pre-recorded stuff, but channel hopping) at Christmas, and I must say the adverts are relentless. In the UK there is a sofa store which decided it needed twerking aliens to advertise its sofa sale. They’ve saved me £700, because whilst I was considering getting the £700 sofa for the new price of £350, I saw the twerking aliens advert and decided to save the money for my future self instead. He needs to learn to drive, so he can get to more book fairs.
It’s good to save money, and one of the best ways to do that, as a reader, is to harvest the books which indie authors make free.
This Friday, I am back on one of my favourite BookFunnel freebie shelves. FREE SCI-FI & FANTASY READS was the first or second one I joined back in 2023, and it is still going strong.
There’s a few AI covers, which readers like me do worry about (if an author uses AI for a cover, who knows if they’ve used it for the story) but overall this bookshelf still leans heavily toward humans, who are the better storytellers.
That said, I believe every writer in this shelf wrote the stories themselves, because I recognise the names. So when you see a name on a cover here, we can both be confident that person actually wrote the book.
Anyway, here is today’s freebie shelf!
And, in case you missed it, below is last week’s shelf.
